Letters for Gender-Affirming Care in One Session

No Gatekeeping: trans-affirming letters in Texas and North Carolina

Vered Counseling has a formal position on letters being required prior to hormones, surgery, or name changes: they’re hella dumb.

Regardless, some doctors or insurance companies require a therapist’s letter before providing gender-affirming care. If you’re in this position, you’ll be happy to know that Vered Counseling requires only one session for evaluation.

Kimberly Vered Shashoua, LCSW writes comprehensive letters, matching WPATH and insurance company criteria to get you approved for the care you need.

Letters available after one session include:

- Letters for HRT (Hormone Replacement Therapy)

- Letters for Top Surgery

- Letters for Gender Confirmation Surgery (Sex-Reassignment Surgery, Bottom Surgery)

- Letters for Gender Marker Change on passports, birth certificate, school forms, and driver’s licenses

- Letters for Name Change on passports, birth certificate, school forms, and driver’s licenses

- Letters for any other barriers, hurdles, or nonsense you might find

Kimberly is licensed in Texas and North Carolina, so these letters are only available if you located in those states at the time of letter-writing.

It’s fine if you’re not a permanent resident of those states.

Why not get a gender affirming letter while visiting the Alamo or eating some of the best barbecue in the world? (Texas-style BBQ or Eastern? The answer is yes.)

The evaluation is done online, on a secure teletherapy videoconferencing platform.

Cost for transgender care letter and evaluation:

After a disastrous attempt to accept insurance, Vered Counseling does not accept insurance.

A 50-minute session, with letters provided, costs $175.

Payment plans are available. Please let us know your needs.
